Intro to SDGs

Summary of the 17 goals; history of their creation; UN context; 193 countries commitments and reporting process; UN System and alignment to support SDG implementation; mapping of commitments and engagement by Companies and Brands with SDGs. Policies at national and city level are being built and tweaked (tax incentives, regulations, zoning laws, etc.) to help ensure Governments, companies and all can deliver on SDGs. SDGs are the “new rules of the game”! 

Consumer & Companies of Tomorrow

Sustainable consumption and production. Leading businesses are integrating sustainability in their business models. 

Reshaping the Industry: 

Stress there is a salient opportunity for the ad industry to have a new role to help companies be accountable for their clients’ sustainability commitments (at UN and otherwise) as well as to meet consumers where they are at with increased demands for ethical spending. Provide historical summary of the ad industry’s influence to reflect and shape culture. For example positive (women lib) and negative (tobacco) examples of the industry’s influence. Identify current opportunities to reshape culture and future. (Note UN summits, Cannes SDG Award, etc.)
